Fifteen days until Halloween!!! So excited!

So………..
…………..fifteen days until Halloween!!!!

Who’s excited?

I’m excited!

I have three (possibly four) functions to attend for Hallowe’en 2010: a zombie walk on Friday, a bowling party (this is the possible fourth), a house-warming-slash-costume party on Saturday, followed by the actual Halloween activities expected on any given October 31st!!!!!

I will be travelling — weather permitting — to see my dear DEAR friend Kay Kay, whose name you have seen in the dedications of a number of my ebooks. I promised her that wherever she is on Halloween, I will be there to celebrate it with her! Although sadly, my favorite restaurant will not be open on Sunday to serve me my traditional meal of pork medallions Marnier, winter vegetables, stuffed potatoe, and caramel pecan torte with a glass of red wine, but you know what? I will survive. Even if only McDonald’s is open for Angus burgers, I will survive.

Did I mention I love Halloween?

All those near and dear to me KNOW this to be true, as they received their Halloween cards about two weeks ago.

The plastic Jack-o-lantern and ghost have been in my office for about two weeks, along with the window sticky thingies. I was happy to see many psuedo-Pagans at work in the same celebratory spirit!

I’m looking forward to having my dear friend M.C aka Meeeeshell aka Michelle apply the latex zombie skin I picked up from wally-mart.

So excited, so excited, so excited.

Did I mention I’m excited!

The only sad note?

Extasy Books will not be releasing “My Experimental Years” until after October 31st (the originally planned release date was Oct 15).

In fact, they have not returned the manuscript to me for review yet.

My guess?

They are super-swamped with authors in the queue.

I can’t wait to see which cover they have decided on for My Experimental Years….there are some naughty Halloween themed goings-on in THAT novel-length tome!

Still also waiting to hear back from literary agent Sandy Lu.

It’s been over 12 weeks so I will email her soon-ish.

Wish me luck, you spook-tac-ular critters of the Net!

Sincere regards,

Amanda M. Holt

Best witches to you and yours this season. I thoroughly enjoy your blog.
I am subscribing and adding you to my blogroll. Do you write any steampunk into your stories?
I may draw some inspiration from your work, applying it to my graveyard tours project.

Thanks, Brandon — that’s very sweet of you to say!

I don’t know how to use all the features of WordPress yet (and I don’t blog NEARLY enough) but if you have a link to your graveyard tours project, I would love to visit! As for Steampunk, I haven’t read enough of it to be an authentic writer of it. Are there any anthologies or stand-alone works that you would suggest?

      Again, my sincere thanks!

    Hi again, A.M.H.

Great to see you are making progress!

Here’s a short list of some ‘Steampunk’ style literature that I alluded to in an earlier comment.

    Boneshaker – Cherie Priest
    Dreadnought
    Clementine

    Steampunk – Ann VanderMeer
The Windup Girl – Paolo Bacigalupi

    Leviathan – Scott Westerfeld
    Behemoth

Like A Wisp of Steam: Steampunk Erotica (The Erotic Steampunk Library) [Kindle Edition]multiple authors

    Steamside Chronicles [Kindle Edition]
    Ciar Cullen

The Iron Duke (A Novel of the Iron Seas) [Paperback]
    Meljean Brook

I will have my Graveyard Tours page up very soon. Lot of photos, whew!
I will send you the link.
Until then, here is a useful site I found recently for curious word origins. http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/gswithenbank/curious.htm
